@karpathy this is exactly what makes the gap so sticky. experiential exposure closes the communication gap momentarily. you can't describe agentic AI to someone who's only seen ChatGPT, any more than you could describe driving to someone who only ever walked. OpenClaw was the first mass event where a lot of walkers briefly got handed the keys. but experiential exposure has a half-life. the shock moves someone into a new mental model, but if they don't keep using it past the first week of wait-this-is-insane, the model decays back to their ChatGPT-website baseline with one new data point tacked on. yeah it can also click buttons. they still don't feel the compounded-practice layer. so OpenClaw didn't close the gap for most people. it moved it by one layer. the frontier just kept walking.
